What you can expect from one of my programs

My presentations focus on students, grades pre-K to high school, but I have done workshops at public libraries, for children and adults. Basically, anyone attending my presentations can glean inspiration…

I have been a journal writer since I was twelve years old. In my presentations, I explain how I have incorporated journal writing and the written word into my life. I will speak about how I find different subjects to write about. I will share life experiences from other writers — famous and not so famous. I will read poems, bring painted rocks that are featured in my books and interesting rocks that I have found through the years. Students will realize that there are so many interesting topics that they can write about — everyday!

Logistics

My programs are 30–45 minutes in length and can be tailored to fit your needs. I can focus on the importance of writing. I can speak about how an idea becomes a book. I have worked in the publishing industry for more than 30 years, so I can explain the process of having a book published—from signing a contract to seeing the finished book on the bookstore shelf.

Here’s what I need to make them run smoothly:

A slide projector and cart (I will bring my own carousel.)
A blank wall or slide screen so I can show my slides
Depending on where the outlet is, an extension cord
A six-foot table to display visuals

Ideally, I like to set up and stay in the same room for all my presentations. I offer up to four presentations per day. Contact Linda to learn more about her school programs.
